Cleveland "David" Garmon, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. David battled brain cancer for the past 2 years and peacefully passed at home surrounded by his loving family in Ooltewah, TN.

David was born September 19, 1947 in Fulton County, GA. David graduated from South Gwinnett High School and then was drafted into the 25th infantry division of the United States Army. He completed two tours of duty in Vietnam from December 8, 1968 to July 18, 1970. During his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with valor, Navy Cross, and Navy Commendation Medal.

David started off his career working under his father in building and construction, where he spent the majority of his career. At retirement, he was a well known interior trim carpenter.

David loved the Lord and grew up attending Mountain Park Baptist Church. He was baptized at Rockbridge Baptist Church and then continued his fellowship at Rosebud Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Buck and Martha Buffington Garmon; brother, Donnie; sister, Marsha; and close friends and family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Brother Lloyd Stancil and Paul Pittard officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Baptist Church Cemetery, 3901 Campbell Road, Snellville, GA 30039. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Tim Stewart Funeral Home, 670 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052. 770-466-1544.
