Ernest D. Plank, 83, Gettysburg R. 2. died at 12:30 Sunday morning at his home after being in declining health for some times.

A native of Adams County, he was a son of the late Samuel D. and Margaret Hahn Plank. He was employed by the United Telephone Co. in West Virginia for a number of years and worked 22 years as a mechanic for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the Musselman Division of Pet Inc. He also worked on the construction of the Little Pentagon near Zora. He attended St. Elias Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg.

Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Bishop, nine children Robert S. Plank, Gettysburg R. 2; John D. Plank, Lexington Park, Md.; Philip F. Plank, Nester, Calif.; Mrs. Margaret Brown, Hanover R. 2; Mrs. Carrie Plank, Belen, N.M.; Mrs. Ruth Peters, Miami Springs, Fla.; Mrs. Grace BEar, Littlestown R. 1; Mrs. Eva Mae Hogan, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Naomi Cheeks, Butler; a sister, Mrs. Ada Knox, Steinwehr Ave.; 22 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Peters Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Warren C. Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery. Friends may call this evening at the Peters Funeral Home from 7 to 9.
