Reids were married in 1830, then moved to Missouri late 1830s. Dolly died soon after son William Walker Reid's birth in 1844. Late 1850s, Pony Reid moved to Denton County, Texas. In 1860 census, daughter Matilda and son William Walker Reid were counted with father William. Next-door were daughter Elizabeth and husband Peter Luginbyhl; nearby, daughter Martha Jane and husband John Strahm; and daughter Amanda and husband George Adams Fisher.
Dolly's grave site is unknown, as is Pony Reid's. Daughter Martha Jane reported to her own granddaughter that he was a "veterinarian" --- likely without formal education -- who supplied horses to the Confederacy during the Civil War.
