Mr. Crump was born May 26, 1936 in Burke County, a son of the late John and Estelle Mull Crump. Dwain worked as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. He loved being outdoors, NASCAR, traveling on trips and listening to music.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Donna Crump, two sons-in-law, David Whisnant and Jonathon Key and brothers, Kenneth, Jerry, Bruce and Tommy Crump.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia Lambert Crump, a son, Leroy Crump, three daughters, Shelia Whisnant, Debra Crump and Kathy Keys a sister, Naomi Cannon and four brothers, Truette, Steve, Joe Joe and Ronnie Crump. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Dwain D. Crump will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday December 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese with interment to follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
