Charles Mitchell, 88, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 14, 1933 in Boone County, the son of the late James Walter and Bessie (Paige) Mitchell.

Charles served in the Army and following his service he was a truck driver for Titus Petroleum and Farm Bureau Co-op for 18 years. He then worked for Lawon Farms for 15 years, retiring in 2019.

He loved collecting John Deere tractors, riding bikes and working in the yard.

Survivors include his daughter, Kimberley (David) Demaree of Thorntown and brother, Jerry Mitchell of Florida.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie (Nease) Mitchell; brothers, Jacob Mitchell, Russell Mitchell, Durbin Mitchell, Alva Mitchell, Milford Mitchell, Nelson Mitchell, and Carl Mitchell; and sister, Mildred Sutherlin.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, Dec. 9 for a graveside service at 11 a.m. in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown. Final care of Charles has been entrusted to the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon.
