Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Mary Downs Devine were held on Sunday afternoon, May 11th, at Stewart Baptist Church with the Rev. George Faulkner assisted by the Rev. Arnold Jacks officiating. Interment was in Milligan Springs cemetery under the direction of Lee Funeral Home. Serving as active pallbearers were Earl Williams, H. A. Grubbs, Delbert Childress, Colon Taylor, A. B. Curtis and Carey McGarrh.
Mrs. Devine who passed away at the Kilmichael Clinic on May 10th was born in Carroll County December 1, 1898. In 1919 she married Louis Devine who survives. She was a Baptist.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Devine leaves her father, Charlie Downs of Belzoni; four sons, Clayton, Howard, James E. and Bernice Devine, all of Stewart; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Herring of Ethel; and a brother, David Downs of Belzoni.
