Mrs. Zannie Ann Batson died at age 77 on May 5, 1952, at her Carbondale home.

She had been a resident of Johnson and Jackson Counties for all of her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lola Batson of Carbondale, and Mrs. Ruby Ford of St. Louis; two brothers, Will Burklow of Goreville, and Oliver Burklow of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Polly Davis and Mrs. Ellie Stewart, both of Buncomb, and Mrs. Zulie Kelly of Jeff; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Burial in the Goreville city cemetery.

Obituary excerpts are from the Southern Illinoisan, Monday, May 5, 1952, page3.
----------------------------
Note - there is no "Goreville City Cemetery". Mrs. Batson's parents and siblings are buried in the Chapman Cemetery near Goreville. I'm assuming that Zannie is buried with her father and siblings.
