Alice LaVerne Gibson Addington, 79, of Earlysville, passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2021. Born on September 28, 1942, in Charlottesville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charlie Gibson and the late Margret Lyle Martin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Jean Frazier; brother, Thomas Wesley Gibson; and grandson, Daniel E. Cason.

LaVerne loved working in her flower gardens,cooking hot, home cooked meals for her family, and decorating for the Christmas season. She was a rare person that possessed a hospitable warmth and an infectious kindness. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, her daughter, her son, three brothers, four sisters, three grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home located in Charlottesville Va.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Rev. Danny Woody officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Earlysville Volunteer Fire Company, 283 Rea Ford Rd., Earlysville, VA 22936.
