He enjoyed his career immensely and retired as a senior master sergeant with many military decorations and citations. After retirement Roger lived in Belleville, Illinois and was employed by a civilian contractor working for the military. Roger was very talented in dealing with others and his ability to take command of any situation and lead others was supported by a very kind and empathetic heart. He loved his parents and his siblings and was very supportive of each of them. Roger loved football and was an avid bass fisherman and participated in many bass fishing tournaments. His greatest ambition was to become a professional bass fisherman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joann.
