Tom Ayers
Tom Watson Ayers, 91, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the Brown Convalescent Center in Royston.
Born on January 13, 1915, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Milton and Pearl Garrison Ayers. He was a farmer, retired from Masters Furniture Company, and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his children, Ruth Andrews, Jimmy Ayers and Dora Janelle Ayers; and a granddaughter, Pam Patillo.
Survivors include his wife, Marie C. Ayers, Canon; three sons, Watson Ayers, Toccoa, Doug Ayers, Canon, and David Ayers, Hartwell; a daughter, Patsy Pagan, Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Ayers, Commerce, and Emerson Ayers, Westminister, S.C.; and two sisters, Mildred Norris and Troyce Kazee, both of Toccoa.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 13, at B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville, with the Revs. Randy Floyd and Harold LeCroy officiating. Burial was in the Middle River Baptist Church cemetery.
