Carl R (Dick) Earnest 93, of Little Rock Camp passed at 9:50 pm on November 25, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family.
He was the Husband of 62 years to the late Ina Mae Powers Earnest. He was born in Upshur County on July 9, 1928 and was the last surviving son of John Haggert Earnest and Marcey Pearl Shawhan Earnest.
Dick is survived by his six children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
Dick is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sherena Cain Millsap, one son-in-law, Steve Cain, brothers and sisters June (Harry) Floyd, Molly (Bernard) Harper, Jack (June) Earnest, Harold (Betty) Earnest, Tom (Bertha) Earnest, George (Janie) Earnest, John Earnest, Phyllis (John) McCarty, brother and sister-in-laws Lloyd Powers, Virginia (Sherman) Kesling, Clifford and Jeannie Powers, Charlie Powers, Nevie (Johnboy) Davis, Barbara Showen.
Dick was a coal miner for many different companies. He was also an electrician and maintenance boss for many years with Repair King and retired at the age of 75.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to WVU Hospice Nurse Tessa Yost and special friend and P.A. Raetta Wentz.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 3-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:30 am with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Interment will follow at Little Rock Camp Cemetery.
