EJ Welch, MSgt US Air Force Retired, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Saturday November 27th, 2021. He was born in Paw Paw, Oklahoma on February 12, 1931 to Eli Jefferson Welch and Cora Adaline McQuarie Welch. EJ Was born the 10th of 11 children. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife Bettye Alvarez Welch, his daughter Elaina and husband Don Rowland, granddaughter JoAnna and husband Rodney Watson and three great grandchildren Ty, Kasha, and Abby. In addition, Bettye's children David Simmons and wife Betty, Kelly Williams, Andie and husband Alex Martin, and granddaughter Brooke and husband Andrew Elkins.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Cliff Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel and conducted by the Reverend Dr. Kent Sweatman at 10AM on Friday December 3, 2021. Viewing precedes the service beginning at 9AM. Interment will follow at Fort Smith National Cemetery at 12noon.
