"O.E." was born September 17, 1917 in Silverdale, Kansas to Henry Wilson and Sarah Helen (Shirley) Demaree. He was reared and educated in Silverdale. He later served in the United State Army Air Corps during WWII. O.E. married Nadine Kahler in 1941 and were later divorced in 1970. He worked as a machinist for the Beech Aircraft Company for 28 years retiring in 1981. O.E. moved from Arkansas City to Wichita in 1971. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
Survivors include one son Scott and his wife Raquel Demaree of Pasadena, Texas; a daughter Susanne and her husband David Warme of Rhode Island; one sister Betty Jones of Arkansas City seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents eight brothers Harry, Bill, Charlie, John, Earl, Warren, Elmer, and Delbert; three sisters Mary Westbrook, Lula Gibson, and Doris Harris.
A memorial has been established with the Presbyterian Manor good Samaritan Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
