HAMPTON - Doris Andrews Rawls, 74, of Hampton died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at Sentara Nursing Center following a long illness.
A native of Martin County, N.C., she had been a Hampton resident since 1942 and was a faithful member of East Hampton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Rawls was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dupree Rawls, on Jan. 8, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Dupree Rawls and Charles Alan and his wife, Cheryl Rawls, of Hampton; three grandchildren, Tracy R. Rawls, Charles Andrew Rawls and Amy Nicole Rawls; one sister, Naomi Roberson of Robersonville, N.C.; and two brothers, Victor Andrews of Williamston, N.C., and Hewett Andrews of Baltimore, Md.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. William H. Nuckols Jr. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
