MRS. PALMER, AGED 85 PASSED AWAY FRIDAY
- Had Been Sick About Eight Months
- Resident of Brookings Thirteen Years
- Mother of C. A. Palmer of This City.
Mrs. Clarinda {"Clara"} M. Palmer died at the home of her son, C. E. PALMER in this city at 12:30 Friday afternoon, after about eight months lingering illness, aged 85 years, 4 months, and 15 days. The funeral services were conducted at C. E. Palmer's residence at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon and the body was laid to rest in the church cemetery beside her husband, Reuben Palmer, who died about a year ago. A very large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral. Rev. R. A. Bruce conducted the services.
Clarinda M. Glidden was born in New York State May 4 1929, and moved with her parents to Wisconsin in 1846, where in 1849 she was married to Reuben Palmer. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer came to South Dakota in 1888 and in 1900 moved to Brookings, where they lived until their deaths.
She is survived by two sons, C. A. Palmer of Brookings, and Herb Palmer of Turtle Lake, North Dakota, who have the sympathy of everyone in the loss of life's dearest gift - loving Christian mother.
