Milley was the daughter of William P. Oliver and Martha Ann Hunt. She married Michael Steven Collins on 20 Feb 1868 in Oregon, Missouri. They were the parents of five children: Charles Collins, William Mason Collins, Goolman F. Collins, Marvin Payton "Doc" Collins and Minnie Belle Collins.

"HANSEN NEWS - Mrs. Milley J Oliver-Collins was born in Vermillion county, Illinois, in 1843. She was married in 1868. Her death occurred last Saturday evening. Her husband and three sons survive her. She was a member of the Baptist church of Hastings, whose pastor, Rev J E R Folsom, conducted the funeral servies last Tuesday at 2:30. She was laid to rest in the beautiful silent city near the home where she lived for several years." (Hastings Tribune, 14 Apr 1899)

"DIED - On saturday night, Mrs. Milley Collins, wife of M. Collins. Deceased had been sick but a short time previous to her death. She is survived by her husband and several children who mourn her loss, and who have the sympathy of the community. The remains were intered in the Hansen Cemetery, Tuesday."
