Mrs. Jacel Thomas, age 100 of Palestine, Texas died February 15, 2010, at Cartmell Home for the Aged in Palestine. Burial in Muse Cemetery is under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. She was born January 21, 1910 in Waco, Texas, the daughter of the late George Evans and Maud Fuller Jackson. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Thomas, Sr.; sisters, Maudie, Mary Nell, Genevieve, and Earlene; brothers, Buddy, and Hess; and grandson, Jackie Boy Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Rogers; sons, James Edward Thomas, Jr, and Jack Thomas; six grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
