Graveside services for Joe C. Millender, Jr. will be held on Monday, November 29. 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Chaplain John Carabin will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Sunday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. Millender passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, at the Groesbeck LTC.

He was born in Teague and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1947. Mr. Millender served his country in the U. S. Air Force, but obtained an early honorable discharge. He went to work for the railroad in Teague soon after returning from his service in the Air Force, where he remained until his retirement. Mr. Millender was well known for his storytelling abilities and was also very talented at making and painting fishing lures.

He is survived by one son, Randy Millender of Teague; one granddaughter, Misti Wortham & husband Ruel of Troy; two great-grandchildren, Katlin Keaton and Landen Wortham; and two nieces, Yolanda and Durinda.

Mr. Millender was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Millender; one son, Joe C. Millender, III; and his parents, Joe C., Sr. & Opal Millender.
