Dr. Achin was born and raised in North Attleboro. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket, RI, Providence College and the University of Maryland. In the early 1960's he was a Captain in the Air Force. He worked as a dentist in Hyannis before opening his own practice in N. Attleboro in 1965. He was a resident of N. Falmouth and commuted to N. Attleboro. He was a member of the Catholic men's group Serra Club and a former member of Knights of Columbus, both in N. Attleboro.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Kurt Andrew Achin of Hong Kong, China, his sisters, Doris Jarvis of Ormond Beach, FL, and Theresa Berg of S. Attleboro; his brothers, Joseph, Henry, Alfred and Ronald, all of N. Attleboro, Gerald of Pocasset, and Roger of Attleboro. He is the brother of the late Jeanette Achin.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, May 15th at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in N. Attleboro.
