Nancy was born on October 31, 1942 to Hugh Alexander Almond and Rilla Hinson Almond who preceded her in death.
She also had a sister, Ora Lee Almond Reid, brother, Odell Almond, Brothers-In-Law Reece Honeycutt and Hollis Reid who preceded her in death.
Nancy was married to her high school sweetheart, Ronald Barbee for 58 years. Ron went to his heavenly home in 2017.
Her family was her life. She is survived by her

Since retiring, Nancy had a special bond with her sweet little doggies, Candi, Mama, and Charlie.
Nancy's career as a professional business woman was a long and busy on beginning with a large Charlotte law firm. Then she became the first female Senior Vice President with First Union National Bank (now Wells Fargo). From this position, she joined Chase Manhattan Bank of New York as a Vice President. She left that position to join her husband in the family business, Southern Services of Charlotte where she finally retired upon selling the business.
A private memorial service is planned. Memorials may be made to Mission Baptist Church, Locust, NC.
