Thomas F. Murphy

On November 23, 2021, of Washington Twp. Age 79. Beloved husband of Roseanne L. (nee McGivern). Devoted father of Kellyanne Rogalski (Mark) and Shannon Murphy-Reilly (Patrick). Loving grandfather of Madison Anna, Sarah Jane, McKayla Rose and Lucas Thomas.

Tom grew up in Port Richmond and loved to play basketball across the street at the Cohocksink Rec Center. He attended grade school at St. Anne's and went on to be a star basketball player for LaSalle High School. His love of athletics made him a knowledgeable and avid sports fan.
Tom was a retired City of Philadelphia policeman. His many years of dedicated public service included working as a Fairmont Park Guard in the K-9 unit. After retiring from the police force he then went on to be a Federal Police Officer and worked for the Treasury Department at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia.
Retirement did not mean slowing down. He and Roseanne went on many adventures together. They loved their trips to Disney and the many cruises they took together. Most memorable were trips to Ireland and the Land and Sea cruise to Alaska. They enjoyed attending mass together followed by dinner on Saturday nights. They had their favorite places to eat and Luna Rosa was at the top of the list.
Tom provided both of his girls with an amazing education. He taught them the importance of hard work and always doing their best. He was never shy about offering his opinion on a subject and he was fiercely protective of his family.
Tom's grandchildren were his pride and joy. He attended their many sporting events and school events where he was not just a spectator, but a great photographer. Each grandchild has their own folder on the computer where their lives are documented with pictures that we will all continue to enjoy.
Tom was an avid gardener who paid attention to every detail no matter how small and his home landscaping is proof of his green thumb. He grew tomatoes in the summer along with flowers and other various plants. His roses are amazing and they will continue to bring joy to all of us.
Christmas was Tom's favorite time of the year when he enjoyed spending this most festive season with his family. He taught us the importance and the real meaning of the Christmas season which we all keep in our hearts.
Tom fought a brave fight with cancer until the end. He passed in the loving comfort of the home he and Roseanne built together. His passing was peaceful and he was surrounded by his family while listening to Christmas songs on the radio.

Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Wednesday 10:30-11:30 AM at the Church of The Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Sewell, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM. Inurnment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield, NJ.
