On November 10, 1881, Alphonse Paul Beaugez married Caroline Seymour, the daughter of Jean-Baptise Seymour and Marie Fournier, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.(Lepre, 1991, p. 17)
Alphonse P. Beaugez made his livelihood from the sea and was lauded as one of the very best sailors and fishermen on the Mississippi Coast.
Mr. Beaugez, age 82 years, died at 5:00 a.m. on February 13, 1942 in Ocean Springs. He was survived by a daughter and four sons: Alphonsine B. Domning of Mobile, Alabama; Mannie Beaugez; Henry Beaugez; Herbert Beaugez; and Mose Beaugez of Ocean Springs; 24 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and over a hundred nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted by Father Holland of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with internment in the Bellande Cemetery.
