Born in Toonigh, Cherokee County, Mrs. Chalker lived in Atlanta and moved to Marietta eight years ago. She had worked in the Dekalb County School System for 10 years and was awarded an Honorary Life Time Membership in the P.T.A. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband Fred H. Chalker; daughter Marsha Hopkins of Tucker; son Douglas Chalker Sr of Marietta; sisters Christine Granger of Marietta, Maude Croft of Gainesville, and Lillian Whiten of Kennesaw; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
