Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Open Bible church for Mrs. William Burdick, 85, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Eason, Sunday, May 31 at 9:25 a.m.. The church rites followed a prayer service at the Wood chapel with the Rev. Harold Dorrance in charge of both. Interment was in Union cemetery.
Margaret Samantha Palmer was born June 1, 1857, at Bloomington, Ill. She came to Iowa at the age of 14. In 1877, she was married to W. O. Burdick, who died Oct. 11, 1936. With the exception of two years spent in Iowa Falls, the couple lived on a farm in Ellis township until a year ago. She was bedfast the last two weeks.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Eason of Iowa Falls, George Edward of Waterloo, and Bert Eugene of Ellis township; eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Acel Palmer of Iowa Falls and an older sister in the state of Washington.
