Born to Irene (Simmons) Carroll (c1898-1973), Marilyn graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL. She was married to E.A. Fritz for 61 years. Their early years together were spent in her hometown of Peoria, IL where Ed worked for Caterpillar Tractor (CAT) before moving to Mentor Ohio where they lived for 31 years. Two daughters and one son were born of this union (all living in 2021). At the time of her death, they had 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker and mother.
