Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Directors are caring for the family.
She was born in Bishopville, SC, on September 28, 1929, to the late David Steinberg and Sadie Jax Steinberg.
She owned and operated "Lorraine's Beauty Shop" for over 56 years and had a passion for making people look their best, even when it meant not charging as much.
She was patient and understanding with people, especially her clients with special needs and disabilities -- She cared for them dearly.
She was a very giving person, always supporting local churches at bake sales and fundraisers, often baking cookies for those same churches and the very same fundraisers. She enjoyed giving back to her community. She loved to cook, so much so that she often cooked more food than her guests could ever eat, but she loved to cook nonetheless.
She wasn't very flashy, but she had a heart of gold, and we will all dearly miss her.
She is survived by her loving stepson, William T. "Tracy" Boyles of Bishopville, SC; cousin, Michael (Sherry) Spevak of Sumter, SC; several nieces and nephews; Long-time friend, Edward Byrd; many caring neighbors and additional friends.
