Lorene Lisa Newberry of Spotsylvania passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born November 29, 1959. Lorene was a retired secretary treasurer.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Samuel "Jessie" Newberry as well as her five children; son,Jack Newberry; daughter-in-law, Julie Newberry; daughter, Jennifer Shelton, three step children, Randy, Patty & Jessica. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Caleb, Hailee, Evan, Madison, Dillon, April, Amber & Robert; her brother, Ira Luck Jr and sister, Cindy Luck; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles.
Lorene's interests included her faith first, and family. She loved her music, singing, reading her Bible, and playing bingo.Lorene always preached to her children about faith and being saved and always emphasized the importance of being saved. She exemplified a pillar of strength, love, thoughtfulness for her family. Lorene always sacrificed selflessly and put others needs before her own!!
A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, VA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 23 at Craigs Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, with the Reverend John Swain officiating.
