Monday, May 8, 1950 - Friday, November 5, 2021
Arturo Adame passed away peacefully in the early morning of Friday, November 5, 2021 at home in Billings, Montana. He was the second baby boy born on May 8, 1950 in Zacatecas, Mexico to parents, Maximino Adame and Zilvestra Zavala.
In 1969, Arturo united with the other half of his soul when he married Francisca Fraire. A journey spanning over 50 years started with a successful grocery store in Mexico. The patriarch also served in the military and as a police officer in his native country. Despite the couple's initial prosperity, the husband and wife selflessly donated their homes, businesses, and land to less fortunate relatives before venturing to the United States. The trip wasn't born out of financial necessity, instead, the dreams and education of their children took precedence.
While tirelessly providing for his family across several states in the United States, Arturo finally planted his roots in Montana. His legacy was always family, and he became the proud parent of nine children.
Arturo's work ethic, creativity, and humor are all evident in each of his unique children. His children also inherited the importance of family before gifting Dad with 18 grandchildren, crowning Arturo with the title Abuelo or Grandpa.
Arturo had a magnetic personality and he will be remembered as a storyteller. For those who listened closely, there were always little lessons wrapped in each tale. The casual observer could be found filling the room with laughter. Arturo loved to entertain, whether singing songs, serenading with a harmonica, telling jokes, managing the grill, or building a cherished bonfire. Most people, though, will look back on Arturo lending his versatile skillset at a moment's notice. He was a man very gracious with his time and energy.
Arturo earned his rest. Envision him now embracing and laughing in harmony with Maximino, Zilvestra, Domingo, and little Fernando too. Salvation awaits this Father, Grandpa, Brother, and Friend. The new world is better with his presence. After meeting the Savior, Arturo probably didn't waste any time lending a hand around the place.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Smith Downtown Funeral Chapel, 925 South 27th Street, Billings, Montana 59101. Interment followed at Pleasantview Cemetery, Lower Canal Road, Ballantine, Montana.
