John was born August 27, 1934 in Collierville, Tennessee, the son of the late Lee and Bertha Duffy Keough. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was employed as a maintenance mechanic for Defense Depot in Memphis. He was married May 25, 1957 to the former Margaret Yvonne Wright and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Whiteville. John loved fishing and enjoyed fixing things. He was a "jack of all trades and master of none."
Mr. Keough is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Yvonne Keough of Whiteville, TN; his daughter, Teresa Lynn Parks (Billy) of Bartlett, TN; two sons, John David Keough (Bobbie) of Moscow, TN and Andrew Jay Keough of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Regina Holback of Juno, WI and Eleanor Holland (Barry) of Oakland, TN; six grandchildren, Kara Gross (Michael), Kevin Keough (Jessi), Krista Parks, Brett Parks (Rachel), Ana Callan and Carlie Keough; and four great-grandchildren, Adleigh, Aisley, Olivia and Luke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Judy Beaty, Carolyn Darnell and Dorothy Sandidge; and two brothers, Roy Keough and Charles Keough.
Funeral Services for Mr. Keough will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. David Reeves, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mr. Keough will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Midway Baptist Church, 2720 Highway 179, Whiteville, TN 38075.
