ALEXANDRIA — Donald Keith "Tom" Wable, 74, Alexandria, died Dec. 12, 2007, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Madison County. He was a pipe fitter for Delco Remy division of General Motors for 47 years before retiring in 1992.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He was a member of Mechanicsburg Lodge 392 F&AM, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Madison County Shrine Club, Shriner's of North America, 40&8; Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Middletown American Legion.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Candace and Ralph Douglas of Markleville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Karen Wable of Gainesville, Fla., and Guy and Ann Wable of Palmetto, Fla.; grandchildren, Matt Grimes, Wesley Douglas, Heather Douglas, Brett Wable Jr., Tyler Wable and Kelsey Wable, and Levi Wable and Nick Wable; eight great-grandchildren, Austyn, Hunter, Drake, Gage Grimes, Lilly Wyatt, Carson Abby Douglas, Vaughan Stoops and special extended family, Margaret "Maggi" Wable; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jay Zach, grandsons, Austin, Stephen, Will and Quentin Zach; many nieces and nephews and two sisters, Owena Wable and Betty Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Emma (Yingling) Wable; two brothers, Alvin and John; and two sisters, Lucille Webb and Barbara Swinford.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Pete White of Bethany Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Saunders Cemetery in Daleville.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
A Masonic service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and military graveside rites.
