He was preceded in death by parents, Carlos and Mary Cole; sisters, Patricia Cole Ross and Margaret Cole.
After college, Carlos served 20 years in the United State Army. He had tours in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany. The old saying "once a soldier, always a soldier" was Carlos to a tee. He tried to live by their creed every day of his life.
He then taught Industrial Arts to high school students in Fulton County. He retired from teaching in 2003. Carlos was a real craftsman in wood working. He was extremely proud of all the furniture he built for his home. Everyone who visited from Hospice, Pastor, Church members, golfing buddies and even the Funeral Director of Roper Funeral Home (Kevin Roper) had to be given the tour.
He was a resident of Bent Tree for 24 years. He loved playing golf and working crossword puzzles. He and his friend, , made a video entitled "Golfing with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis." They were basically trying to help golfers with lung problems continue playing golf while on oxygen therapy.
Carlos will be missed and remembered by all of us who love him.
