On September 10, 1976, she married Dennis Hughes and they shared 45years of marriage together.
In 1973, Jackie graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School and received her LPN license from Anderson School of Practical Nursing. Jackie passionately cared for the patients of Mercy Hospital, Dr. Spangler's office and then returning to Mercy Hospital where she eventually retired. Every year Jackie would look forward to her family vacations to Long Island, NC. She also enjoyed her home and loved spending time with her family.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Hughes of Elwood; son, Jarod Hughes of Elwood; grandchildren, Aiden, Scarlett, Elijah and Hadrian; two brothers, Brock (Linda) Cyphers and Brad Cyphers both of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her daughter, Katie Hughes; and grandparents, Art and Rena Heaton and Loren and Ruby Cyphers.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood chapel. Funeral service celebrating Jackie's life will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Dunnichay Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date where Jackie will be laid to rest along the side of her beloved daughter Katie.
