Charles L. Gensimore, 87, of Warriors Mark, died peacefully following a brief illness Sunday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. His wife, Joy, was by his side. He was born in Alexandria, son of Frederick and Fannie (Leidy) Gensimore.

In April 1957, in Winchester, Va., he married Joy Elizabeth Wrye, who survives.

Charles was preceded in death by a grandson, Zack; and a brother, Glenn.

He served in the Army from 1951-55 as a corporal during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ward Trucking in 1996 following more than 40 years of service. He was a member of the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church, Anderson-Denny VFW No. 4559 and the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company. He enjoyed spending time at the Randolph Spring Hunting Camp, working on cars and spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, 3784 Warriors Mark Path, Warriors Mark; and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Burket Cemetery.
