Mr. James Lewis Astin, age 85, of Cedartown passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021.

James was born December 22, 1935 to the late Robert Boyd Astin and the late Mattie Lee Welchel. He attended Lake Creek Baptist. James was an Atlanta Braves fan and he took great pride in everything.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Fay Astin; sister, Selma Martha Jo Mull and her husband Junior Mull; brother Billy Jean Astin and his wife Shirley Astin and his brother-in-law E.C. Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Astin; daughters: Kelly Russell and Heather Lance; granddaughter, Anslee Bradshaw; sister, Alice Matilda "Tilly" Allen of Tallahassee, Florida along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Astin will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2021, 3:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
