Stella was born on April 23, 1938 in Cuba, New Mexico and resided in Española, New Mexico.

Stella enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, taking rides to see the scenery and visits from her family.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio Aragón and Merejilda Montoya, her daughter, Bernadette Borders, her son-in-law, Ellis Borders and her sisters, Porfiria Sánchez and Emma Jaramillo.
Stella is survived by her brother, Lupe Aragón (Udela), her children, Jimmy Gutiérrez (Monica), Kathleen Bonnie Roybal (Jake), Elizabeth Smith (Hiram) and Daniel Gutiérrez (Francine), her grandchildren, Bonifacio, Moriah, Jessica, Amanda, David, Karen, Angel, Victoria, Ethan, Marcus, Jordan, Jackie, Branden, Bethany, Malachi, Harmony, Jeremiah and Emily as well as 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM with a burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Due to the pandemic, this will be a private ceremony.
