Mrs. Doris Ann Snelson, 78, of Bartlesville, died at 5:18 P.M. Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Private family services will be held at a later date and cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mrs. Snelson was born at Natura, Oklahoma on January 6, 1933 to Julian Jackson Acree and Gladys (Reed) Acree. She grew up in Texas and in Okmulgee where she graduated from high school and then later attended business college in Bartlesville. She was married to Jimmy Wayne Snelson on October 30, 1953 in Okmulgee. They made their home in Okmulgee until moving to Bartlesville in 1966 and she was employed for a brief period with Phillips. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and was a current member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ in Bartlesville. She was a past member of the Listen and Learn Homemaker's Club.
Mrs. Snelson is survived by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Snelson of Bartlesville, one son, Jimmy Wayne Snelson and his wife Donna of Bartlesville, one daughter, Cynthia Ann Hale Parker of Big Cabin, Okla., one brother, Joe Julian Acree of Okmulgee, three grandsons, Jesse Snelson and his wife Cory, Jacob Snelson and Branson Hale and his wife Rebecca and one great granddaughter, Abigail Snelson.
