LaWana Pack Rhead passed away at the age of 94 on November 12, 2021 in Ogden. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on February 10, 1927 to William Raymond Pack and Mercy Ethelin Lewis. LaWana spent her childhood and youth in Kamas Valley. She told very funny stories about adventures with her siblings, cousins and friends. She also often mentioned that all the young men thought she was a "catch."

She met her eternal sweetheart, Charles Max Rhead, on a blind date and they married on March 30, 1946. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and spent 70 years together.

Together they raised six children, Diana Bingham, Gwen Sant (deceased), Linda Staley, Rhonda Johnson, Richard Rhead and Annette Simpson.

She was a determined and strong woman who accepted many church callings and found great joy in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She and her sweet Max served at the Ogden Genealogical Center and as Ogden Temple ordinance workers. LaWana supported Max in his calling of Stake Patriarch. She transcribed hundreds of blessings. She also served faithfully in many ward and stake callings.

LaWana developed her artistic talent in oil and watercolor paintings. Her beautiful paintings are proudly hung in places of honor.

In addition to her children, her posterity includes 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is predeceased by her husband Max, daughter Gwen, granddaughters Heidi and Andrea, her parents and siblings.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Plain City Cemetery, 4373 West 1975 North, Plain City.
