Born in Lake City, SC, he was a son of the late Wilbur Dewey and Geneva Metcalf Kirby. He was retired after 20 years from Papercutters. He served the United States Marine Corp as a Lance Corporal, and a member of Clearview Baptist Church.
He is survived by two brothers: Charles Kirby and wife Shirley, Kelly Kirby: close friends and caretakers: Barbara and Brent Williams; close friends: Dicky and Nancy Nix; and close neighbor: Angie Koppen.
Along with his wife and parents he was predeceased by a brother: David Kirby; and beloved pet: Angel.
Burial at Mountain View Memorial Park.
