Mr. Allen was born on March 26, 1941 in Greene County, Georgia to the late Jim Clyde and Mary Alice Echols Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Cherie Jo Allen; sisters, Barbara Allen Roberts; Ann Allen Smith; brother, Gary Clyde Allen step-son, Keith Simpson; and step-daughter, Lisa Griffith. Mr. Allen was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, and loved his Lord very much. J.T. was an avid Coon Hunter and he also loved to fish. When you met J.T., you had a friend for life.
Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia "Jenny" Atkinson Simpson Allen, of Cornelia; step-son, Kevin Simpson (Angie); step-daughter-in-law, Cherry Simpson; three special nieces, Pam Vaughn (Brian), Laura Moody (Donald), Michelle Lowry (Mark), and a special nephew, Gary Allen (Lowella); ten step-grandchildren, 10 special grandchildren, three great step-grandchildren, and six special great grandchildren.
