Original burial entry in sexton's ledger book shows: a child of Eugene GRANBURY [sic] was born in Georgia, died aged 23 days of the croup, and was buried 17 MAR 1881 in Section 1, Lot 122, as a resident of Columbus, Georgia (so probably born and died there). The sexton was Abraham ODOM.
This grave is probably not identifiably marked. Samuel ANDREWS paid $5 each for Lots 122 and 123 in Section 1 (date of sale not reported). Others reported in city 1-122 include: Robert GRANBERRY (06 JUL 1879--11 MAY 1880); a chlid of W. C. JOHNSON, buried 01 SEP 1880 (aged 4 days), unmarked; Emma Dora (JOHNSON) GRANBERRY (29 MAY 1854--04 OCT 1881); Alice Lee JOHNSON (23 NOV 1864--23 JAN 1882); Joel T. JOHNSON (27 FEB 1827--29 NOV 1884); Elizaeth "Bettie" (BROWN) COOK (23 AUG 1833--24 JAN 1900); Eliza Jane JOHNSON (Mrs. Joel T.) (28 MAR 1828--02 JAN 1913). These marked graves are in Lot 158 of Section B in Dolores Autry's "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book (edited by Lea Dowd et al.), Volume 1. Autry reports in this lot several plain brick ledgers (1 adult-sized, 1 child-sized, and 3 infant-sized) with no identifying markings.
