Johann G. Aff, Friend of Grant,
Succumbs to Cancer.
Johann G. Aff, 79 years old, a former neighbor and intimate friend of Gen. U.S. Grant, and for whom the village of Affton, St. Louis County, was named, died Tuesday night of cancer of the stomach in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Juerdens, 1215 Sidney street. He had been ill two weeks. Aff is survived by three sons and three daughters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Aff's old home in Sappington, St. Louis County. Interment will be New Pickers Cemetery.
