Catherine "Gwen" LeBleu Peloquin, age 77, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Gwen was born June 14, 1944 in Lake Charles to Fred Cleveland LeBleu and Della White LeBleu.

Gwen was a life long resident of Moss Bluff. She was a graduate with the first graduating class of Sam Houston High School and was very proud to be named the first Sam Houston High School Homecoming Queen and Ms. Sam Houston. Gwen worked for Water District # 1 in Moss Bluff and retired after 28 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff where she served in the kitchen preparing Wednesday night meals. She also was a member of Eastern Star Lodge 242 in Moss Bluff for 50 years. Her children and grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed sharing her amazing cooking and baking especially her famous strawberry pies with them. Maw Maw's Sunday dinners will never be forgotten. Gwen's personality and smile will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ross Peloquin, Jr. and wife Tammy of Moss Bluff; daughters, Carla Davis and husband Garry of Canyon Lake, TX. and Sherrie Cavys and husband Jared of Ragley; grandchildren, Austin Peloquin, Amanda Peloquin Navarre, Ryan LeJeune, Devin LeJeune, Collin Winkles, and Keenan Winkles; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Fred "Bubba" LeBleu, II and wife Ellie of Moss Bluff.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elmer "Buddy" Karsch; sisters, Maida Broussard, Annie Vidrine, Flora Bel Ferrante, Aroma Boardman, Juanita Gimbel, and Evelyn Karsch.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home led by Pastor Bill Saxby of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff. Burial will be immediately following at Old Ritchie Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Ms. Sandra Smith and Ms. Suzie Janice for the compassion and care provided to their mother and also to the kind and devoted staff of Amedisys Hospice.
