Homer C. Needles, 71, of Indianola, died Saturday at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Memorial services will be Friday at First United Methodist Church in Indianola, of which he was a member. The body has been donated to the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines.

Mr. Needles was born in Lacona, the son of Earl & Ardona (Elmendorf) Needles. He had been a salesman for Dewey Ford in Des Moines since 1972. Before that, he worked for R.M. Hale Ford in Indianola for 20 years. He was a member of the Indianola I.O.O.F. Lodge, a charter member of Indianola Little League and an honorary member of the Indianola Fire Department.

He is survived by a son, Nick of Indianola; a daughter, Natalie Lewellin of Des Moines; two sisters, Edith Coughlin of Indianola and Mary Duff of Des Moines; a brother, Harris of Des Moines and two grandchildren.
