Rachel retired from the Minneola plant and was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Barber of Burlington, Kathy Barber of Durham and Tami Ramirez and husband Ernesto of Elon; a granddaughter, Rachel Maria Ramirez-Kimrey and husband Jonathan of Elon.
Rachel was preceded in death by her former husband; parents, William and Ida McPherson Parrish; sisters, Oetis "Tizzy" Dawson, Gladys Kernodle, Lucille Needham; and one brother, James Parrish.
The family of Rachel Barber wants to express their gratitude for the kind and compassionate care given their mother by the nurses and staff at Edgewood Place over the past several years.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Gene Hunsinger and burial will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
