JOE DUGGER - Joe passed away at his home in Pasadena Sunday, May 16, 2004 at approximately 9:30 A.M. Forest Park Lawndale will be conducting the funeral. Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Forest Park Lawndale Chapel. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena.

JOE TRAVIS DUGGER, born October 29, 1937 in Jacksonville, Texas, died May 16, 2004, in his home in Pasadena, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Dick and Marguerite Dugger, and Aunt Leta Weiss. Left to celebrate his life and miss him forever are his wife Sandy, daughters and sons-in-law Cindy & Danny Hendricks and Allison & Jim Fox, sister & brother-in-law Dena & Tony Bogata, brother & Sister-in-law Dale & Barbara Dugger, Grandchildren Aaron McCartney, Danny Hendricks, Macie Fox, Justin Fox & Whitney Fox, Mother-in-law Mary Schuster, sister-in-law Pame' D'Angelo, brother & sister-in-law Billy & Sue Lyon and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joe became a Houston Police officer on September 4, 1962 and attended Police Academy Class #26. Joe served his last 18 years in the Narcotics Division and retired after 30 years of distinguished service. During that time, he began working part time with the Houston Oilers in security, allowing him to travel all over the United States, Mexico and Japan. After 30 years with the Oilers, he was appointed director of security for all Fingers Furniture stores by the late Sammy Finger. After seven years with Fingers Furniture, he was asked by Mr. Bud Adams to be executive director of security for the Tennessee Titans and Adams Resources, which he accepted. He retired in October 2003 due to poor health and to play lots of golf and spend time with his family. Joe loved life and lived it to the fullest. He always said, "I may not have a million dollars, but I have a million friends." Visitation will be at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral home on Wednesday May 19, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 7500 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas (281) 991-1232, on Thursday, May 20, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. After Services at First Baptist Church, burial will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jim McCoy, David Sauer, John Grimsley, Milton Oaks, Slick Johnson and Randy Thompson. Honorary Pallbearers: HPD current and retired officers, Houston Oilers ex-coaches and players, Tennessee Titians coaches, players, staff and special friend Harold Weisenthal.
