Patricia E. Christensen, 90, a resident of the Forest Grove community, died Saturday morning, October 23, 2021 at her home.

PATRICIA E. CHRISTENSEN was born in Rigby, Idaho, the daughter of Leonard Stuart Egan and Angie (Balmforth) Egan. She was raised and completed her primary education in Ririe, Idaho, graduating with the Class of 1949. Upon her High School graduation, Patricia attended Ricks College and Utah State University, earning a bachelor degree in elementary education.

She was united in marriage to Royal Christensen on December 27, 1956 in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary this past December. Following their marriage they resided in several locations while Royal serve assignments in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserve. Following his discharge in 1962, they moved to Oregon, settling in the Forest Grove community where they have resided since.

Pat taught 4th grade at Harvey Clarke Elementary School in Forest Grove for many years, until she retired.

She was a member of the Fernhill Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Forest Grove.

Following Royal's retirement, he and Pat volunteered to go on an 18 month humanitarian mission to help the people in the country of Armenia. They helped provide educational supplies for schools and orphanages, medical supplies for hospitals as well as food and farming projects to help those in rural communities. They also volunteered with the Amigos Community Impact Project for several years.
Among her special interests, Pat enjoyed painting with oils and acrylics. She loved collecting rocks, bird watching and supporting the Boise State Broncos Football team.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Angie Egan and her three brothers, Ron, Sid and Paul Egan.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Royal Christensen; her four children and spouses; Kurt and Lorna Christensen, Holley and Mark Monson, Darrick and Jodi Christensen, Cheryl Herrera and Patricia's son-in-law, Manuel Herrera. Patricia is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Frieda Egan and Brion and Dee Egan.
Also surviving are her fourteen grandchildren; her thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
