LCDR Charles Peek, United States Navy (ret.) was born in Brantley, Alabama, the son of the late Fernando and Bert Brunson Peek. Mr. Peek was a member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy for over 30 years, during World War II, and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. After retiring from the US Navy in 1966, he worked on the USS North Carolina Battleship where he was Assistant Superintendent until his retirement in 1980. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Carney Peek. He died at The Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center.
