Georgetown, DE - William F. "Bill" Byram, Jr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. son of the late William F., Sr. and Ruth F. (Missimer) Byram. Bill worked with Verizon for 46 years and retired as a cable splicer in 2001. After retiring, and up until the time of his death, he worked for Sports at the Beach doing seasonal lawn maintenance of the property. Bill enjoyed staying active, he worked as a volunteer at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge and loved anything outdoors, especially walking his beloved dogs on various trails at local state parks. Bill also enjoyed supporting his son as he raced for several years at local and regional dirt tracks. He loved his family, especially his grand kids and great grand kids and supporting anything they were involved in. Bill had served in the National Guard and was an active member of the Telecom Pioneers. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Byram. A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
