SR. GEORGIA KAMPWERTH, ASC, 88, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, died peacefully at 8:20 pm, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois. She had been professed for 68 years.

She was born on November 24, 1932 in St. Rose, Illinois, she was one of seven children in the family of George H. and Josephine (nee Wilke) Kampwerth.

Sr Georgia received her RN from DePaul School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri in 1958; her bachelor of science degree in Nursing from Viterbo College in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in 1972; and her master of science degree in Health Services Administration from the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois in 1985. She earned a Certificate in Corporate Ministry from St. Louis University in 1989.

Her primary ministry was nursing. She served as Nurse Supervisor for 11 years, administrator of nursing for 16 years and as nursing director of senior sisters for eight years. She worked in the Illinois hospitals of St. Vincent (now Taylorville) Memorial in Taylorville, St. Clement (now Red Bud Regional) in Red Bud; at Clementine Residence in Red Bud and at the Ruma Center in Ruma.

Sister Georgia worked briefly as a teacher's aide at St. Henry Day Care in Belleville. She spent eight years as a Social Services Assistant at St. Paul Nursing Home in Belleville, assisting clients during their transition from their homes to the facility. She also volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville for ten years.

She enjoyed good times with her friends in community and found contentment in praying together, eating together and playing games together. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

She had a keen memory and could always be counted on to recall the date of a particular event.

Sr Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, her one brother - George, her three sisters - Antoinette (Richard) Kapp, Emerentia Kampwerth and Sister Rita Kampwerth, ASC.

She is survived by her two sisters - Jane Frances Jansen and Ann Alberternst, and many nieces and nephews.

A Rite of Committal and Burial will be held at 11:15 am, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the convent cemetery.

A Memorial Mass for Sr Georgia will be celebrated for family and friends at a later date.
