Carol Summers Lazenberry passed away at the age of 81 on October 24, 2021, in Friendswood, Texas. Carol was born on June 18, 1940, in El Paso, Texas to parents Margaret C. Guyton and Luther M. Summers.

After marrying the love of her life, Daniel in El Paso, they started their family and raised five children eventually moving the family to Houston in 1970.

As well as being a busy mother to five children, she went on to begin her own professional career in medical sales. At the age of 50 she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. In 1995, at the age of 54, and not to be outdone by her much younger fellow graduates, she graduated Cum Laude as an RN with a BSN. She thrived as a nurse and during her career specialized in the care for the elderly. In 2002 at the age of 62 she was ready for a new adventure. As she wanted to continue serving the needs of the elderly and sick, she and her son Hugh started a successful hospice and home healthcare company.

Her primary passion in life above everything else was her family. Her children and grandchildren gave her great joy. She and her husband Daniel, took their large family on many vacations, ranging from annual camping trips to Garner State Park to skiing in Austria and on cruises all over the world. Her beautiful back yard was always filled with family members gathering for all holidays, all birthdays and often for no reason at all.

She was a talented seamstress who not only made Christmas and Easter outfits for her children, but she also even outfitted her small grandsons in intricate Power Ranger costumes. She loved to decorate her back yard with colorful Talavera Garden pots, wild and wacky yard art and her love of dinosaurs and trains gave her children endless gift ideas.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret C. Lazenberry, Charlotte A. Brohi, Jacqueline L. Lazenberry, Susan C. Magers, son Hugh Lazenberry, daughter-in-law Lisa C. Lazenberry, son-in-law Al N. Brohi, twelve grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Her husband of 59 years, Daniel L. Lazenberry and their son, Daniel L. Lazenberry, Jr., preceded her in death.

Friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, October 30th at 10:00 A.M. with her Homegoing Celebration immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home, 311 N. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, TX 77546, (281) 992-7200, with Rev Rex Forsyth officiating. Her remains will be buried with her husband at the Houston National Cemetery.
